what we did
"Jour de pluie"—a music video based on the piano piece of the same name by Canadian composer Rachel Laurin—explores rain as a symbol of hope and renewal. The viewer is taken on a journey into the reverie and anguish of a young woman's subconscious. The innocent occurrence of a tear falling into a teacup triggers a series of dreamlike associations delving into the ups and downs of motherhood. The final scene of rain washes away anxiety and offers a ray of hope.
A dialogue between surrealist cinema, aesthetics inspired by Brazilian Carnival, editorial photography, and evocative piano music, the film is a collaboration between Brazilian filmmaker Caio Amon and Canadian pianist Marc Bourdeau, bridging the North and the South.
We also produced a making-of for this production, which can be accessed here.
Selected for Experimental Brasil 2023, Short Way International Short Film Festival 2024 (São Paulo).
