what we did
Graphic art and music videos for a classical music album. Serenata follows the intriguing journey of the song for voice and fortepiano through places, eras, and languages. A journey that begins in the German Baroque, passes through Viennese classicism, crosses the Atlantic to colonial Brazil under João VI, docking at Porto dos Casais in the Azores. It encompasses over a hundred years of classical songbook accompanied by the fortepiano—an instrument that preceded the modern piano and is revived in this research in all its sonority. Love, humor, melancholy—human feelings and perceptions vibrate in this repertoire and still find a lively resonance today.
