what we did

We provided audiovisual coverage for FISHES, a performance by Camila Vergara.

FISHES is a dance-theater performance that evokes the collective strength of a school of fish dancing its routine in choreographic compositions inspired by the diversity and mysteries of the sea. It's a metaphor for reflecting on ways of living and the future we are creating. Not only for our species, but for all. The fish serve as an analogy for society, whose attention span, increasingly short and fragmented, is drawn to different stimuli. In a dreamlike plot, the school of fish is carried by the movement of ocean currents. As it plunges toward the abyssal waters, hybrid and mutant figures coexist in their own mythology. The corals lose their color, and an oil slick disguised as a storm threatens the survival of the school and its environment. Who would have thought that diving so deep would be a journey toward the future? The dancing fish remind us that humans and their movements are not separate from nature. On the bottom of the earth, being in a collective is an exercise in imagination and survival.
