what we did
'Scene Diversion' is a cine-dance documentary that explores the artistic challenges faced by Muovere, a dance company from Southern Brazil, in the face of climate emergency times. Following an unprecedented flood that devastated the city of Porto Alegre in 2024, the company (known for its acid, chaotic, and critical identity) reimagines an ongoing stage production, transforming it into a filmic experiment open to unpredictability. Dancing in cultural spaces that have marked a 35-year trajectory – locations affected by the waters and public authorities neglect – the artists move between natural environments and artificial representations of the city, merging movement, cinematography, and discourse to reflect on art as resistance and reinvention.
